The Race to Mackinac is a race only for the thick skinned and highly skilled sailors; they practice their techniques for a very long time before this race begins and all crew give their heart and souls to capture every bit of wind in their sails to win this race.   Everyone in this race deserves a big congratulations for their expertise and contributions to this event.

We were sorry to hear the news of a very bad storm with 75 mph winds causing one of the boats to capsize and two people died.  This is the first time in history we heard such horrific news.  Our hearts and prayers are with them and their families and a well deserved thanks go out to those who abandoned the race to help in the rescue missions for the crew of this boat.
